About us

The Pepperell Siding Model Railroad Club (PSMRC) is an HO scale model railroad club that meets in Lomar Industrial Park in Pepperell, MA every Monday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The public is welcome to visit during any meeting. The club has over 40 dues-paying members and five Life Members.

The club's second floor area features a permanent layout in an area of approximately 1,000 Sq. Ft. The first floor functions as a meeting room, module construction area and module storage area for our traveling layout. This gives us the flexibility to take modules to shows, or create large dramatic scenes for the layout upstairs that span an area larger than a typical "traveling" module. We like the versatility that building modules give us in trying out new arrangements. We operate trains using  Digital Command Control (DCC), permitting simultaneous operation of several trains on the same track.

Our members hold classes to teach various aspects of model railroading. We periodically have classes in creating scenery; weathering buildings, locomotives and rolling stock; DCC decoder installation; rolling stock maintenance and DCC train operation among others.

We exhibit at train shows at least five times a year, including:

  • Our own show, October 2
  • Bedford Boomers annual show in November
  • Amherst Railway Society show in West Springfield at the end of January
  • Milford Lions Club/NH Garden Railway Society show in March
  • Hooksett Lions Club show in April
